Gone but not forgotten.....

God's Garden
God looked around His garden
and found an empty space.
He then looked down
upon the earth,
and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get
well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
and whispered, "Peace Be Thine."

It broke my heart to lose you,
but you did not go alone …
For part of me went with you
on that day God called you home.

How do you describe a man who raised you as his own, who never met a stranger, and always saw the good in people? How do you describe a man who taught you to do your best and never give up? This man is my grandad. He passed away on October 15 2008 He was diagnosed with stomach cancer that spread to his liver just 6 days earlier.

He taught me "your word is your bond", about money, about succeeding. He taught me how to drive - and never got made when I wrecked the jeep, yet he turned it into a lesson. He comforted me when I didn't make the soccer team and gave me praise when I was accepted into college. He pushed me to do my best. He always said "take your time going, but hurry back". My grandad was loved by everyone who met him. I can't begin to list all the things he did and how much he meant to me or describe all his good qualities.... just take my word for it.
